During the visit, the team conducted a detailed inspection of the groundnut crop. They observed the initial infestation of Green Caterpillar in the field. If left unmanaged, this pest can feed on the leaves, reducing the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which may adversely affect crop growth, flowering, and ultimately reduce yield.
At the site, the Atur Agri Limited team provided the farmer with comprehensive guidance on identifying the pest, recognizing the symptoms of damage, and implementing effective management practices. The team advised the farmer to regularly monitor the crop, control the pest at the early stage of infestation, and use only recommended and registered insecticides as per agricultural expert recommendations.
The experts also advised that insecticide spraying should be carried out during the cool hours of the morning or evening, while strictly following the recommended dosage. They further recommended avoiding spraying when rainfall is expected to ensure maximum effectiveness of the treatment.
In addition, the team emphasized the importance of proper moisture management, balanced fertilizer application, and regular field inspections every 2–3 days to detect any pest or disease infestation at an early stage and take timely corrective measures.
