1️⃣ Fertilizer Management
- Apply fertilizers based on soil test results.
- If crop growth is weak, determine the nitrogen requirement according to the crop condition.
- At the beginning of flowering, phosphorus and potash can be beneficial as per the crop’s nutritional requirements.
- If there is a micronutrient deficiency, use the appropriate product according to the recommended dose and label instructions.
- Simply applying more fertilizer does not necessarily result in more flowers or higher yield.
2️⃣ Water and Moisture Management
- Maintain adequate soil moisture, but do not allow waterlogging.
- If water accumulates in the field after rainfall, ensure proper drainage.
- Excessive and prolonged moisture can increase the risk of root diseases and other crop-related problems.
3️⃣ Pest Monitoring
At this stage, pay special attention to:
- Leaf-eating caterpillars
- Sucking pests
- Pests that damage flowers and buds
- Pod-damaging caterpillars
Inspect the crop at least twice a week. Adopt appropriate control measures based on the specific pest and crop only when the pest is observed.
4️⃣ Disease Monitoring
If symptoms such as yellowing of leaves, sudden wilting, rotting near the roots, or drying of branches are observed, immediately inspect the affected plant and the surrounding plants.
Avoid waterlogging and poor drainage in the field.
5️⃣ Weed Management and Field Cleanliness
If excessive weeds remain in the field up to 60 days, they compete with the crop for water, sunlight, and nutrients. Therefore, control weeds as needed according to the crop condition.
