🌱 Major Symptoms of Wilt Disease
The leaves of affected plants first begin to turn yellow and become droopy. In the initial stage, symptoms may often appear on one part of the plant, and gradually, the entire plant may be affected.
As the disease progresses, plant growth slows down, and the leaves and branches begin to wilt. Eventually, the entire plant may dry up.
If the stem of a suspected plant is cut near the soil level and examined, brownish discoloration or changes in the color of the vascular tissues may be observed inside.

Wilt disease is generally caused by pathogenic fungi present in the soil. The source of the disease can survive in the soil for a long period and, under favorable conditions, can infect plants through their roots.
Conditions such as waterlogging, poor soil drainage, continuous cultivation of the same crop, and infected crop residues can affect the health of the crop and may contribute to the development of the disease.
