The photograph shows yellowing of the peanut leaves along with several small black/brown spots. Based on the symptoms, it appears to be Late Leaf Spot (Tikka Disease / Leaf Spot Disease) of groundnut.
🌱 Main Symptoms Observed
- Small brown to black spots on the leaves
- Yellowing around the spots
- Severely affected leaves turn yellow and begin to dry
- As the disease progresses, leaves may fall prematurely

In groundnut, yellowing of leaves is generally referred to as “Leaf Yellowing.” However, it is not the name of a specific disease.
If the leaves show yellowing along with black/brown spots, as seen in the photograph, there is a possibility of Tikka Disease (Leaf Spot). On the other hand, if the entire plant shows uniform yellowing, possible causes may include nitrogen or iron deficiency, waterlogging, or root-related problems.
🌱 Fungicide Options
As per ICAR recommendations, any one of the following fungicides can be used:
- Chlorothalonil 75% WP – 20 g / 10 litres of water
- Propiconazole 25% EC – 10 ml / 10 litres of water
- Tebuconazole 25.9% EC – 10 ml / 10 litres of water
If the disease is severe, as per ICAR guidance, a second spray can be taken after about 15 days by rotating to a fungicide from a different group.
⚠️ Important: Before selecting a fungicide, check the label claim and local agricultural recommendations for the crop and disease in your area. Avoid spraying when rain is expected, and ensure thorough coverage of the leaves during spraying.
